A Fisher’s Paradise

Fishing with Grampa

Fishing in Lake Koocanusa makes for a very successful fishing experience. Whitefish, Burbot, Kokanee, Yellowstone cutthroat and Gerrard strain rainbow trout are stocked here, all reaching good sizes. Trolling with baited or small silver and red lures are the most popular methods used by anglers. Ford fenders, wedding Rings, kernel corn, maggots and worms have also been quite successful. We suggest a 6 or 7 pound test line as well.

MEMORIES MADE ON LAKE KOOCANUSA

“Our Houseboat adventure in July turned out to be the highligh of our month! We were celebrating our 40th Anniversary. There were 19 of us on the houseboat, 8 of them being our grandkids between the ages of 3 and 8 yr.

Every one of us would say it rated 10/10. I always thought that house-boating was more for adults and partying but not so, we had a marvellous time and hope to do it again. We didn’t realize that Lake Koocanusa was so expansive and so beautiful.

Thanks for providing such a great opportunity. We would highly recommend this kind of unique holiday.
